Sable's Grimoire is a visual novel series set in a fantasy world filled with magic and monsters. It follows the adventures of Sable, a young human who wants to become a magic researcher, during his time at Amadronia Academy.

Sable spends his everyday life at Amadronia surrounded by demi-humans, including elves, pixies, and succubi, as he learns more about this magical world and the creatures within it.

Sable is back as his second year at Amadronia Magic Academy begins at last. As a direct sequel to the first game in the series, Sable's Grimoire 2 features a returning cast of dozens, and several unfamiliar faces as a new grade full of students enter the academy.

Join Sable once again as he continues his research into magic alongside his demi-human friends. Your choices will determine whether his days are spent focused on his studies, advancing his career, or getting closer to the demi-human students and teachers of Amadronia Magic Academy.

I need more Koko and Kiki T-T
10/10 been looking forward to this since I played all the others

Hello! First time I buy one of your games here on Itch instead of Steam, may I ask you to send me a steam code?

Done.

Thanks a lot!

Hey i just bought the game and was wondering if you could send me a steam code

(+1)

Done.

Hey, appreciate you guys got this game out. Just letting you know that I didn't know about this game coming out on Steam. Just wondering if that was overlook or intentional, as I only learned about this on itch. Bought it anyway, of course. Just wandering.

Was there a specific manner in which you were expecting to hear about the release on Steam? eg. Did you have the game wishlisted on Steam, and you never received a notification to say that it was released?

I neglected to make an announcement in the News section of the Steam page for this game. So if you were following the news section but didn't have the game wishlisted, then that could be why.

I didn't even know there was a steam page, so I never wish-listed it. I kept seeing updates for all the games about "Updates for getting ready for SG 2 updates." I didn't see anything about "Our page is up, please wish-list it" or anything else. I was just aware that you guys were working on it but nothing else.

The way I was kind of expecting to hear from it was an announcement on SG1 saying that the game page is up, please wish-list it etc.

Ah, I see. I guess that's an oversight on my part. There's an announcement (a cross-promotional news post) on the other SG games, and I've linked to the steam page in the past. but I guess I didn't do that as much as I should have.

Thanks for the heads-up. Publicizing and engagement really isn't my strong suit.

Really enjoyed the game. Just finished every route today (Android version)😄

There was a bug/ issue with the sprite on Koko's route. Screenshot below.

Two qestions:

1.Which routes do you plan on expanding on or adding? Is Eris's route going to be expanded on with future updates?

2. I'll have to go through and reread again through the previous games, though can you confirm on whether Xafina is going to play a role on Project Homonculus?

Thanks JJArchie, that expression was fixed in v1.0.1, but I'm grateful that you took the time to report it. I was expecting a few bugs in v1.0.0 given the size of the game, but I think the noticeable ones are all sorted by now.

I won't be announcing which routes are going to be added or expanded at this point in time. I'm planning on adding at least 2 more routes (work on those has already started) and probably at least 1 more route apart from those (yet to be determined). Details won't be released until they're further along in development.

I'm not prepared to confirm or deny whether Xafina will come into Project Homonculus or not either. Sorry, you won't get any spoilers from me! All I can confirm is that she didn't show up in Drakan's route in SG1 nor in A Dragon's Treasure. So if she is in Project Homonculus, it will be in the context of not having met in the previous games.

Do you need to buy on both Steam and itch to get a Steam key and Android build?

If you purchase the game on Itch and then post here to let me know, I can provide you with a key for Steam.

I can look up the sale history and confirm the purchase, then send the key to the email address tied to your itch account.

*Steam keys usually take a day or so to request from Steam, so there will be a slight delay between those two things happening.

Just saw your reply. Took me only 60 seconds to buy after that.

Thanks, I've sent the key to your gmail account.

Thank you. I've been a fan since your other visual novel Sickness. 👍

Sickness feels like an eternity ago now lol. Thanks for the years of support!

Hi, any plans to release it on Jast store same as previous games from the series?

(+1)

Yep. It'll probably be a few weeks though. I want to wait for the initial bug reports/fixes that come with a newly released game before submitting it to them. Also, updates on JAST are all done manually by their staff, and so is the review process, so they take a lot longer to roll things out.

I'm a huge fan of this game; it has the best story I've ever played. I've bought every release so far, but I always have to wait for it to come out somewhere with a Portuguese language option to download and play Zetsubou. Is there any hope for an original Brazilian Portuguese language version, or is it impossible?

Hi, I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying the series.

I'm afraid that a Portuguese translation (or any translations, for that matter) aren't likely to happen. Translations are too costly, especially for games of this length. Each individual language translation would likely cost more than the rest of the game (art, music, etc.) put together.

It's a real shame, but it's still a wonderful game, lol. It won't be long before an external translation appears; until then, all we can do is wait. Good luck with the game's production! 😉

Hello! I have seen in the most recent changelog for Sables's Grimoire 1 that the game is no longer compatible with windows 7, although I see there's an option to download a windows 7 compatible version. I would like to purchase a copy of this game, but I am currently using a windows 7 computer and am concerned I won't be able to run it. Will there be a version of Sable's Grimoire 2 that is windows 7 compatible on release?

(+1)

Maybe not on Steam. But on Itch, at least, I'll be providing Windows 7 builds for Sable's Grimoire 2.

The devlog on the first Sable's Grimoire game was misleading. That line about Windows 7 and 8 no longer being supported was only supposed to be posted on Steam. I've now removed that line from the devlogs on Itch.

The problem is that Steam doesn't allow developers to provide separate versions of a game for different versions of Windows. The closest thing you can do is create a separate opt-in beta specifically for Windows 7, which is what I've done for the existing Sable's Grimoire games. Whereas on Itch, I can upload separate builds for separate versions of Windows and just name the downloads differently.

So yeah, Windows 7 will be supported on Itch. Maybe on Steam.

The Windows 7 version will lack one specific feature (image oversampling). Image oversampling is used to make the game look better at resolutions above 1080p. Other than that it should be exactly the same.
